WHY HYPNOTHERAPY?

Everything You Need to Know

Today there are so many forms of therapy to choose from, whether it's mainstream, complementary or alternative to apply to any area of your life that might be in need of a boost. From acupuncture to reflexology, aromatherapy to sports massage. Would you benefit more with cognitive behavioural therapy, or person-centred counselling? Or what about a Life Coach, or NLP? Making the best choice for you can be difficult.

So with all these options, why choose hypnotherapy? Well, here are three reasons why hypnotherapy could work for you.

Shadow on Concrete Wall

1. It's highly effective and transformative

Most of us know what we should be doing to address the problem that we are having. For example, if we want to lose weight, we know we have to move more, and eat less. Snacking on biscuits is not going to help with that goal.

If you want to stop smoking, you should not be buying cigarettes, stop lighting them, and find something else to do with your hands.

Yet sooner or later, most of us hit our ‘metaphorical wall’. Those should or should nots only take us so far, and even with the best will in the world, for some reason we just can’t seem to get through.

Does that sound familiar?

Hypnotherapy works with your unconscious mind – the part of your mind that is able to make a thousand decisions in a matter of minutes, and the part of your mind that is always working behind the scenes towards what is best for you. This is the part that houses your memories and your habits - even the ones that you are not consciously aware of.

Working with your unconscious mind allows us to confront the root cause of the problem that you just can’t get past. We identify the trigger, which often people cannot recall with their conscious mind and tackle that, rather than merely addressing the issue superficially. Our method has more impact, instead of simply putting a plaster over the problem which will inevitably cause it to return again.

2. It's faster and more affordable than conventional therapy

Everyone’s needs and circumstances are different, but with talking therapy asking the question “How long will I be in therapy?” and “How many sessions will this take?" is similar to asking "How long is a piece of string?".

By contrast, hypnotherapy is often a much faster solution with an average of 4-6 weekly sessions to create noticeable and sustainable changes to behavioural patterns that some people have been trying to implement for years.

This is certainly not to suggest that hypnotherapy is just a quick fix. There is no magic cure. Change takes trust, commitment and a huge deal of motivation from the client, along with guidance and support from your therapist.

We are living in an era where we are always pushed for time and it has become our most valuable commodity. Between work, family, friends, keeping fit, and all of the other things we’re trying to balance, who has unlimited time and money to spend on themselves?

Now add in weekly therapy sessions and it becomes apparent that most of us don’t have the luxury with our time, or money.

Hypnotherapy can be the affordable, time efficient and an effective solution that you’ve been looking for.

3. It's versatile and can be used for many things

You may have heard of hypnotherapy being used for stopping smoking, perhaps for hypnobirthing or maybe for weight control.  In fact, it’s very difficult to find something that hypnotherapy cannot help with. We work with clients experiencing issues such as pain, IBS, anxiety, lack of motivation, and relationship issues.

Hypnotherapy teaches you how to relax your system and remain calm under pressure. If you have an exam or a job interview, hypnotherapy can help with your information retention and give you the confidence boost that you need.

If you are not sleeping, hypnotherapy can help identify the reason for your sleepless nights, encourage you to settle your thoughts and quieten your busy mind.

Is Anxiety your issue? Hypnotherapy helps amend the way you perceive stressful situations and provides you with the skills to help you manage and prevent it.

Whether what’s bothering you is being able to speak in public, make definitive decisions, a fear of flying or managing a skin condition...the list goes on! Hypnotherapy can be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
